Malkangiri: Residents of MV 7 village in Sadar block of Odisha’s Malkangiri district are spending sleepless nights after they spotted seven wild bears roaming free in the area. These wild animals are invading people’s houses in the middle of the night in search of food and destroying their properties.
A recent viral CCTV video clip shows three bears entering the house of on Arun Dewan in the village by scaling the boundary wall and ravaging property in search of food. The bears also left the house on their own a few hours later.
Although no injury has been inflicted by the animals on anyone so far, people in MV 7 village are living in fear and are afraid to leave their homes after sundown.
Meanwhile, it is believed that rampant deforestation in the area has destroyed the habitat of many wild animals in the region resulting in food scarcity. As a result, they are now venturing out in the locality.
