Only eight districts- Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri, experienced the normal downpour in the same period.

The State has had a 39% rainfall deficit since the onset of monsoon.

From June 1 to 22, Odisha has received 83.6 mm of rainfall against the normal.

The insufficient rain affected greatly the kharif crop season. The scanty rainfall is attributed largely to the sluggish monsoon in the State.
