Bhubaneswar: A youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Choukamal village under Lachhipur police limits in Subarnapur district, late Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Siba Bariha.
As per the report, Siba went to the village market yesterday evening but did not return home till late night. Later, villagers spotted him being hacked and writhing in pain.
On a tip-off, family members reached the spot and rushed him to Dunguripali Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, doctors referred him to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. However, he succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Siba’s family alleged that Siba was murdered. They accused one Biswa Mahananda of killing Siba over past rivalry and filed a complaint with Lachhipur police in this connection. They have demanded action for Mahananda.
