Khurda: A large fishing cat was rescued from Ghoradiha village in Delang area of the district on Thursday. The fishing cat was hiding itself behind a hillock when it was spotted by local villagers.
The locals informed officials of Delang forest range who rushed to the spot and rescued the wild animal. The rescued fishing cat is around 4 years old was in healthy condition, reports stated.
The fishing cat was taken to Khurda veterinary hospital for medical check-up and was later kept at the district forest office. As per the instructions of the local forest officials, the animal will be kept at Nandankanan of freed into the Barunei jungle, reports added.
