Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had a delicious spread for lunch on Sunday when the entire State was celebrating ‘Pakhala Divas’ or Pakhala Day.
Odisha CM’s love for ‘Pakhala’, an Odia delicacy – cooked rice washed or little fermented in water, is no secret. Naveen loves to have Pakhala in lunch during summers.
A video shot while the CM was having lunch, is trending on social media. The Pakhala was served to Naveen in a bell metal bowl, as per traditional Odia customs. The entire spread was laid on a banana leaf.
“Pakhala is my favourite. My wishes to everyone on the occasion of Pakhala Divas,” Naveen said while relishing a portion of the lunch.
Today, Naveen had deep-fried crispy drumsticks, fried small fish (called Chuna Macha in Odia), bitter gourd, raw banana and potato, fried with a little oil. Besides, there was a chutney as well on the menu for the CM on Pakhala Divas.
