Bhubaneswar: The General Manager (P&A) of CRUT, Dipti Mahapatro has been internationally awarded as Electric Women in Transport 2022 by TUMI (Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative), GIZ and Women Mobilize Women on Tuesday, where she spoke on ‘we can inspire larger – scale electrification globally’.
They are celebrating the success and accomplishments of 15 outstanding women globally who are working towards promoting E-Mobility and striving hard to transform the transportation sector by making it greener, sustainable and inclusive.
Mahapatro has been instrumental in working towards improving Odisha’s transportation sector. Her tireless efforts to promote gender-inclusive public transportation, in which E-Vehicles are driven by women, transgender and people from disadvantaged sections of the society; have elevated the city’s public transportation system to new heights. This award honours her commitment to providing excellent public transportation service and her zealous efforts to strengthen the Capital Region’s urban mobility system.
“With the constant support from the Government of Odisha, it has been an incredible experience with CRUT throughout the years, transforming the way we looked at public transportation in Odisha. I’ve always attempted to bring in something new that will assist people from all walks of life to earn a livelihood in a respectable manner. The introduction of E-Rickshaw and getting women and transgender to drive it was another feather in the cap,” sge sud.
“With the E-Bus soon to be launched, it will be a significant advancement in the field of green and sustainable public transportation. I am honoured to get the #ElectricWomen2022 Award and being recognised as one of the world’s 15 outstanding women promoting E-Mobility. I would like to thank GIZ, TUMI and Women Mobilize Women for recognising my initiatives in the electric mobility sector. This success would not have been achieved without the efforts of my entire team, associates and the love of all the commuters, Mahapatro added.
