Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested two persons in connection with the brutal murder of Lokanath Biswal, husband of Banita Biswal, Samiti Member of Bagdor panchayat in Belapada block of Balangir district.
The accused have been identified as Sitaram Bindhani of Jhulenbar village under Patnagarh police limits and Rabi Sandh of Rampallipada of Patnagarh town.
Both the accused were produced by Belapada police at the SDJM Court in Patnagarh. They were sent to jail as their bail pleas were rejected by the court.
According to reports, last Monday evening, Sitaram Bindhani, Rabi Sandh and another youth of Padmapur in Bargarh district had visited Bagdor village and shot dead Lokanath and fled the spot.
While they were fleeing Lathore police captured Sitaram and Rabi at Lathore. However, the youth from Padmapur managed to flee.
The three assassins are said to be ‘supari’ (contract) killers.
