Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against four accused in the Court of Special Judge, POSCO Cases. The chargesheet was submitted before the POSCO court in UP’s Chandauli district. Four accused have been named in the chargesheet for their alleged involvement in a case related to child sexual abuse.
CBI has named the following accused in their chargesheet: Rambhawan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, Ajit Kumar, resident of Patna, Bihar, Ajay Kumar Gupta, resident of UP’s Chandauli district, and Avanish Kumar Singh (Owner of an institute) at Chandauli.
In May this year, Ajit Kumar, who was working as an Assistant Loco Pilot, was arrested by the CBI from Rourkela. He was working with the South Eastern Railway, Rourkela, the CBI stated. “Kumar was reportedly in contact with several individuals through mobile applications like Grinder and Blued,” the Central Agency added.
In this matter, CBI registered a case against two accused on April 29 this year. Both the suspects were accused of sharing and exchanging various Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM). The materials reportedly included pictures, and videos depicting children in an obscene, indecent or sexually explicit manner.
After the case was registered, a search operation was conducted at the residential premises of the accused (a public servant) in Odisha’s Rourkela. Sleuths discovered incriminating material, articles, and items including mobile phones, Micro SD cards, hard discs etc.
It was alleged that the accused spoke with one individual (a resident of District Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh) with whom he shared, transmitted and collected CSAM in exchange for money.
It has been found that the individual enticed minor victims by talking with them in a nice manner, providing them with his mobile phone for gaming, and giving them chocolate, tiny gifts and some money.
The Chandauli resident allegedly took nude photographs of victims and also threatened them to face dire consequences if they raise their voices against the exploitation. Both the accused allegedly assaulted the minor victims sexually and had allegedly instigated the minor children to perform sexual activities.
Later, another accused also allegedly got involved and sexually assaulted minor children. According to reports, during the probe, it was discovered that the underage victims were also coerced and induced to engage in sexual acts with each other.
The accused recorded such acts on their phone and then sent them over various social media platforms such as Whatsapp and Telegram.
