Bhubaneswar: At a time when Odisha is bracing for another flood in quick succession, the IMD has forecastheavy rainfall in three northern Odisha districts.
According to the IMD, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts are very likely to experience heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday. A yellow warning has been issued for these three districts by the IMD.
Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts are bracing for a high flood in Subarnerekha river. Heavy rainfall is very likely to worsen the situation, as Jharkhand is releasing flood water on Subarnarekha’s upstream.
On the other hand, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall over the next five days in coastal Odisha, South Interior Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Rayagada districts.
During the next 24 hours, Bhubaneswar is likely to witness moderate rain or thundershower.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Angul, and Dhenkanal districts with a prediction of lightning and thunderstorm.
