Commissionerate Police Issues Notices To Social Media Platforms To Remove 249 Objectionable Posts

Bhubaneswar: The Social Media Cell of the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar has issued notices to different social media platforms for taking down 249 objectionable posts so far informed, Police Commissioner Sanjeev Panda.

“These include 68 posts on Facebook, 144 on Instagram, and 37 on X. We have so far received four complaints from the public. The remaining have been detected by our team from cyberspace on our own and issued notices for taking those down,” said Panda.

The Police Commissioner informed that the social media cell has been actively monitoring around 110 social media handles.

He further said that the Commissionerate Police has issued WhatsApp numbers and emails for the public to register their complaints.

The Commissionerate Police has one Social Media Cell each at Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, he added.
