Bhubaneswar: On instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T), VK Pandian visited Baramunda bus stand and reviewed the progress of the Inter-State Bus Terminus.
Baramunda being the busiest bus terminus in the State, Pandian instructed authorities to complete the full work including the ‘Terminal building’, to be completed by March 2023.
Every day, hundreds of buses ply from here to different parts of the state and beyond. Keeping in view the convenience, safety and needs of the passengers, the work is going on as per the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the development of this bus terminal under the 5T initiative, the CMO stated.
Pandian was accompanied by Vice-Chairman of BDA, Sanjay Singh. The senior officials reviewed the progress of ISBT and Bus Depot work. The ISBT work has been estimated at Rs 180 crore.
The project involves a parking area, ATM, food court, shops, restaurants, commercial spaces etc. Built on 11.48 acres of land at a cost of 180 crore rupees, the ISBT can accommodate more than a hundred buses can move to and from this terminus.
