Koraput: Fire Services personnel on Friday recovered the bodies of two persons who drowned in the Kolab water reservoir after a country boat capsized in Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday. One person is still reported to be missing.
According to Semiliguda police, 15 people from Mukhibidai and Tenthhalipadar villages were returning to Podagarh Ghat by a country boat on after seeing a jatra on Thursday. When they were close to their destination, the boat sank into the reservoir. While eight persons drowned in the reservoir, four persons, including three women, were rescued by the Fire Services personnel on Thursday. The rescuers fished out the body of one passenger last evening, while they were unable to trace the whereabouts of the remaining three.
On Friday morning, the Fire Services personnel fished out two more bodies from the reservoir, while one is still said to be missing.
