Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Monday predicted squally weather with wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph along and off Odisha coast during August 1 and 3 under the influence of well-marked low-pressure area over central parts of north Bay of Bengal.
With projections suggesting that the system is likely to concentrate into a depression in the next 12 hours, the eastern part of the country will be in for some extensive rainfall activity in the coming days. Widespread light to moderate rains, thunderstorms, and lightning with isolated heavy downpours (64.5 mm-115.5 mm) are very likely over Odisha between Monday and Friday. Further, isolated very heavy rainfall (115.5 mm-204.5 mm) is also very likely over Odisha until Wednesday.
