Bhubaneswar: Moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning with one or two intense spells of rain likely to affect some parts of districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapara, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Khordha (Including Bhubaneswar city) and Cuttack (Including Cuttack city), Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Nayagarh, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur during next three hours, said a nowcast warning issued by the Meteorological Centre, here at 5.00 PM today.
The Met Office has issued an ‘Orange Warning’ for these districts.
The Met Office has cautioned that waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban areas is likely movement should be avoided in affected areas and arrangements should be made for drainage of excess water.
The Met Department has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
