Kandhamal: BSF jawans on Friday seized an improvised explosive device (IED) during a combing operation in the forest of Taksipadar near the Sadingia village under Firingia police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
The IED was defused and all its components were separated. The components included a 2-liter steel tin, 50 grams of a guillotine, a 6-volt battery, one bullet, lace tape, and 20 meters of electric wire. It is suspected that the IED was planted to target the BSF jawans deployed in anti-Maoist operations in the region.
