Cuttack: Six people were killed in two separate accidents on Saturday morning in Cuttack district.
The first accident that took place at Gadadharpur near Tigiria in Cuttack district left four dead.
The four youths, all friends, belong to local area.
Among the dead, one is from Banki Harirajpur, another from Banki Palput. Another deceased belong to Baramba and another is a resident of Khajuripada village in the same locality.
The tragic accident occurred when a car in which four friends were returning home from marriage party rammed into a road side house. Four died on the spot.
The vehicle is completely damaged. Tigiria police seized the bodies for post-mortem.
In a separate incident, a biker and pillion rider died while the two-wheeler hit a passenger bus near Jania Square on Cuttack-Chandbali road in the morning. The bus skidded off the road and entered a muddy land. The passengers are safe.
The bus was on its way to Cuttack from Kendrapara. The dense fog is suspected to be the reason of the mishap.
Police seized the bodies for post-mortem and launched an inquiry after registering a case.
In another incident, seven members of a marriage party sustained critical injuries when a Bolero in which they were travelling collided with a stationary sand-laden truck on NH 16 near Dahisada near Soro in Balasore district.
All the injured persons are from Sadar block on Balasore. They have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital.
The front part of the Bolero was damaged in the collision. Police seized the vehicle.
