Bhubaneswar: At least 10 people were injured after a private bus met with an accident at Nuapada Chhak on National Highway – 55 under Charmal police limits in the Rairakhol area of Sambalpur district on Monday morning.
According to reports, the bus en route to Sambalpur from Bhubaneswar was transporting 50 passengers when it met with the accident. As the vehicle approached Nuapada Chhak, the driver lost control of the wheel causing the vehicle to overturn.
Of the 10 injured passengers, eight were rushed to Rairakhol Sub Division Hospital. As the condition of the two passengers deteriorated, they were transferred to Burla Hospital.
On being informed, Charmal police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The driver of the bus, however, managed to flee the spot after the accident.
