Three Arrested For Pre-Poll Violence In Nayagarh

Bhubaneswar: Three persons were arrested in connection with the pre-poll violence in Bhagabanpur under Bhapur block in Khandapada of Nayagarh district.

Main Accused Ramachandra Sahu, two others- Loknath Sahoo, Dillip Pradhan were arrested. Police conducted flag march in the village to ensure free and fair election.

Peace committee meeting was convened in Khandapada police limits, the Nayagarh SP said.

Adequate forces have been deployed in the village due to tension.

Earlier in the day, tension erupted in Bhagabanpur village after a violence clash between workers of BJD and BJP.

The incident took place when workers of one party were allegedly distributing cash in the area. The other group opposed the act which led to clash.

Workers of a party allegedly threatened another group with pistol and swords.
