Kalahandi: A biker was killed on the spot while his son and another person sustained critical injuries after two two-wheelers collided head-on at Kendu Bandh Street near Rampur in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Yuvan Tandi of Jhet Pali village under the Komna block of Nuapada district.
According to reports, the fatal accident occurred on National Highway No 59 at the Kendu Bandh intersection between Raipur and Gopalpur on Thursday morning. Yuvan Tandi, his son Rajeev Tandi, and Bhagirathi Jal of Jhet Pali village in Komna block of Nuapada district were on their way from M Rampur Pat to their village on a bike. While they were passing through M Rampur this morning, their two-wheeler collided head-on with another. Parmanand Bhoi and Naresh Chandan (27) of Kanderei village under Karlamunda block were on their way to M Rampur on a motorbike from the opposite direction and the two bikes collided head-on.
Local people rescued them and rushed them to M Rampur Hospital. However, Yuvan breathed his last on the spot, while his son Parmanand Bhoi was first taken to M Rampur Community Health Center (CHC) and later shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) as his condition deteriorated.
The other injured are being treated at Emrampur Community Health Center.
