Bhubaneswar: Odisha Principal Secretary of the Rural Development Department, Sanjay Kumar Singh, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Minister of Rural Development, Ravi Narayan Naik on Sunday.
Singh welcomed the minister by presenting a bouquet and briefed him on the important issues and strategic steps laid down to advance the rural development agenda in the state.
The Department attaches great importance to the implementation of ongoing projects, new policy initiatives aimed at increasing rural infrastructure and the participation of stakeholders in achieving the sustainable development goals. Said, Singh.
Naik, the minister for Rural Development, is also in charge of the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water departments of the state.
This visit signifies the start of initiatives designed to promote growth and development in rural areas, thus contributing to the overall advancement of the state.
Singh is an Indian Administrative Services officer from the 1997 batch and is a postgraduate in Economics from the Delhi School Of Economics with a specialisation in development economics and monetary economics.
He started his career as a development banker as well as taught economics to students at the graduate, and undergraduate levels before venturing into prestigious civil services.
