Chhattisgarh Woman Rescued From Odisha’s Mahanadi River

Jharsuguda: A woman from Chhattisgarh was rescued by locals today while being swept away in the Mahanadi river.

The woman, identified as Sarojini Ranveer from Purat village in Chhattisgarh, was rescued from Palsada Ghat under the Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district.

According to reports, the woman was being carried away by the river when she was spotted by some people who immediately jumped into the water and rescued her.

Upon rescuing the woman, the locals found her feet tied with a chain, which restricted her movement. She was offered food by the locals and is currently in a stable health condition.

Further details about her and the exact reason behind the incident are yet to be ascertained.

The locals have informed police officials. More details on the matter are awaited.
