Bhubaneswar: Puri Town police arrested a constable working at Konark police station for cheating a young woman on the pretext of marriage.
The accused has been identified as Givind Chandra Sahoo who resides at Brahmagiri.
Police arrested Sahoo after the victim who is a resident of Satapada filed a complaint with Puri Town police in this connection.
According to reports, Govind initiated contact with the woman through Facebook, and after gaining her trust, promised to marry her. He then established a physical relationship with her for two and a half years, while secretly marrying someone else.
The woman discovered Govind’s marriage through his WhatsApp profile picture. Following her complaint, police arrested Govind and registered a case against him.
