Bhubaneswar: In a swift action, the Athagarh police arrested an accused on Monday in connection with a bomb hurling incident at a house in Jagiapada village under Athagarh police limits in Cuttack district.
The arrested individual has been identified as Bishnu Charan Khatua.
According to reports, several bombs were thrown at the house of Prabhat Rout on Friday night because he was a key witness in a case, and the attack was meant to intimidate him.
Following the incident, Prabhat Rout filed a police complaint, accusing Bishnu Charan Khatua of being responsible.
After investigating the matter, the Athagarh police arrested Khatua, the main suspect in the case.
Meanwhile, the police assured Prabhat Rout’s family that they will soon arrest the other individuals involved in the attack.
