Cuttack: The Bidanasi police in the Cuttack Urban Police District (UPD) have arrested Daniel Raj, a resident of Chahata Nagar in the city, for allegedly defrauding Sanjeev Kumar Rout of ₹8.45 lakh with the promise of securing him a job in the railways.
“We have arrested Daniel Raj, a resident of Chahata Nagar, for allegedly duping Sanjeev Kumar Rout, who is from the Soro police limits in Balasore district, of Rs 8.45 lakh. Raj neither secured Rout a job as promised nor refunded the money he had taken. A case has been registered based on the FIR filed by Rout. All necessary evidence has been gathered, and Raj has been arrested and forwarded to court,” said Amarendra Panda, Additional DCP, Cuttack.
Panda further stated that the investigation is ongoing and assured that any new developments uncovered during the course of the inquiry will be taken into account.
