Thundershowers With Lightning Likely In 14 Odisha Dists Within Next 3 Hours: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert indicating that 14 districts in Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning in the next three hours.

According to the IMD’s nowcast, light to moderate thundershowers with lightning, along with light to moderate rain and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h are expected to affect parts of the following districts: Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Khandamal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Subarnapur, Boudh, and Bargarh. This weather is predicted to last from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm today.

The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for these districts. People are advised to monitor the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
