Heavy Rains

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is expected to experience Kalabaisakhi rain for the next four days. The Regional Meteorological Centre issued a warning for rain and thunderstorm till April 22, with a change in weather expected by April 23. Two active trough lines or low-pressure systems over the state are triggering the rain.

The Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate rain in most places for the next three days, followed by a 2-3 degree temperature rise. This will lead to an unbearable heatwave.

A warning has been issued for 25 districts in the next 24 hours, with a yellow alert for heavy rain in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak. Winds are expected to blow at 50-60 kmph in some areas.

Districts likely to experience rain with lightning include Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurdha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput, with winds blowing at 30-40 kmph. Citizens have been advised to remain alert.
