Bhubaneswar: A businessman was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Boudh district on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Patra (38) a resident of the Boudh market area.
According to reports, assailants attacked Patra with sharp weapons on the bypass in Boudh town around 6 pm and fled the scene. The businessman sustained several deep injuries to his neck, chest, and other parts of his body.
Upon being informed, the police reached the spot and rushed Patra to the Boudh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending medical staff.
In this regard, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. “The post-mortem examination of Patra’s body is scheduled for Monday,” police said.
Initial reports suggest that the murder may be linked to a previous personal enmity.
