Odisha Kudo Association Seeks State Recognition In Meeting With CM

Bhubaneswar: A 70-member delegation from the Odisha Kudo Association, including players, coaches, and members, met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today to advocate for the promotion and official recognition of Kudo, a dynamic mixed martial art blending judo, karate, and taekwondo.

The delegation highlighted the growing popularity of Kudo, both in India and internationally, and noted that training programs are already underway in several Odisha districts. They urged the state government to grant Kudo state-level recognition to further its development and reach.

Chief Minister Majhi engaged with the players, encouraging them to persist in their training and assuring them that the government would consider recognizing Kudo at the state level. The sport’s potential to foster discipline and physical fitness was acknowledged during the discussions.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, and Nitai Shankar Guin, the chief coach of the Odisha Kudo Association, underscoring the significance of the initiative.
