Keonjhar: A domestic dispute ended in tragedy in Mundasahi of Gobardhan village, under Keonjhar Sadar police limits, where a 23-year-old man, identified as Pradhan Munda, reportedly died by suicide on Tuesday.
According to local sources, a heated argument broke out between Pradhan and his wife earlier in the day. Deeply distressed following the altercation, Pradhan is said to have taken a saree from inside the house and used it to hang himself.
Family members, upon discovering the incident, immediately alerted the police. A team from Keonjhar Sadar police station, led by ASI Satyajit Nayak, reached the spot, recovered the body, and initiated a formal investigation. An unnatural death case has been registered.
The body was sent for post-mortem at Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital and later handed over to the grieving family.
The sudden death has left the village in shock, with locals mourning the loss of a young life. Pradhan leaves behind his wife and a young child, both of whom are now left in a state of emotional and financial hardship.
Police investigation into the incident is underway.
