Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths today arrested Rama Chandra Nepak, Deputy Ranger of Jeypore Forest Range in Koraput district, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.
Nepak will be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.
Based on searches by Vigilance Department conducted on properties of Nepak, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including huge cash of Rs 1.43 crores, a multi storeyed building, 3 flats, 2 high value plots, deposits over Rs 1.33 crore, gold weighing 1.504 kg, silver weighing 4.637 kg and two four wheelers, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
When questioned by the vigilance team, Nepak failed to provide satisfactory explanations for the acquisition of these assets, which were found to be grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income. He was arrested after he failed to provide satisfactory explanations for possessing disproportionate assets.
