Bhubaneswar: Demonstrating a continued commitment to direct public outreach, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led the 14th session of his grievance hearing program in Bhubaneswar today. Held at the Unit-2 grievance cell, the session saw CM Majhi, flanked by eight senior Cabinet ministers and top bureaucrats, personally address the concerns of citizens.
The program, lauded for its tangible results, has instilled significant public trust. Officials reported that out of the 12,252 grievances received in the previous 13 sessions, a remarkable 10,807 (88%) have been successfully resolved. The remaining cases are actively under process.
Reflecting his personal dedication, CM Majhi arrived early to meet approximately 40 individuals with disabilities and serious illnesses waiting outside the cell. He personally received their petitions and directed officials present to take immediate action. Inside the hearing cell, he then listened attentively to registered complainants.
“Today, among the complainants who came, some were distressed about their respective problems,” noted an official release. “The Chief Minister reassured them, gave them hope and encouragement, and promised to resolve their issues.” His intervention reportedly brought “a ray of hope” to worried faces, with citizens leaving comforted.
The CM issued direct instructions to the secretaries of relevant departments present to expedite solutions for all grievances raised during the session. He was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and ministers Mukesh Mahaling , Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Rabi Narayan Naik, Nityanand Gond , Suryavanshi Suraj, Pradeep Bal Samant, and Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia .
Top administrative brass, including Additional Chief Secretaries Satyabrata Sahu (Home), Surendra Kumar (GA&PG), and Deorajan Kumar Singh (Revenue), alongside other departmental secretaries, provided crucial support during the hearings.
This state-level initiative, mirrored in districts across Odisha, is proving instrumental in resolving long-standing public issues, further strengthening the connection between the government and the citizens it serves.
