Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has released the third installment of the CM-Kisan scheme, providing financial assistance to over 51 lakh small and marginal farmers in the state. Each farmer has received Rs 2,000 directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer.
The financial assistance was released by the Chief Minister in the Presence of deputy Chief Minister and State Agriculture Minister KV Singh Deo at a state level function at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).
The CM-Kisan scheme aims to support farmers by providing them with Rs 4,000 annually in two installments. With this latest installment, the total assistance provided under the scheme has reached Rs 1,041 crore.
The release of funds is expected to help farmers with their early farming work for the 2025-26 Rabi season. The state government has been working to support farmers and boost agricultural productivity in Odisha. The funds were released on the eve of the Nuakhai festival, which fell on August 28.
