Bhubaneswar: In a progressive move towards modernising agriculture, farmers in Nayagarh district have begun using drone technology to manage pests and diseases in their crops. Timely and effective pest control remains a significant challenge for farmers striving to boost crop yields.
The Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department (@krushibibhag) recently showcased this advancement on the social media platform X, sharing a video of a drone spraying demonstration organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nayagarh. The demonstration, conducted over six hectares in Natugaon Gram Panchayat, highlighted the efficiency of drone technology in managing stem borer infestation in rice crops.

Held in Sajanapada village, the drone-based pesticide spraying event took place in the presence of local farmers, who observed firsthand how this innovative method can save time and labor while effectively protecting crops.
