Cuttack: Marking the auspicious occasion of Maha Navami — the ninth day of Navratri — Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited several Durga Puja Mandaps across Cuttack on Wednesday to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Maa Durga.
The Chief Minister commenced his visit at the Durga Puja Mandap in Pratap Nagari. He then proceeded to various prominent Mandaps located in Nuapada, Nuabazar, Potapokhari, Chauliaganj, Jobra, College Chhak, Chhatra Bazar, Khan Nagar, Malgodown, Choudhury Bazar, Chandini Chowk, Shaikh Bazar, Bidanasi, and the CDA area.
During the visit, CM Majhi was accorded a warm welcome by members of the respective Puja committees. The atmosphere was charged with devotion and celebration, as enthusiastic crowds gathered to greet the Chief Minister.
Elaborate security arrangements were put in place by the district administration to ensure smooth conduct of the Chief Minister’s tour across the city.
Extending his festive greetings to the people of Odisha, CM Majhi said, “The Goddess stands for our strength and protection. May She bring peace and happiness to everyone.”
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi, Cuttack District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, BJP District President Sukanta Biswal, Nayan Kishore Mohanty, Dillip Mohanty, and other dignitaries.
