Bhubaneswar: A truck carrying pulses caught fire at Malgodam in Cuttack in the wee hours of Thursday. As a result, the driver who was sleeping inside the cabin sustained serious injuries.
However, the fire brigade team worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control and were successful in doing so.
According to reports, the truck, loaded with pulses, had started its journey from Kolkata and was headed towards Cuttack’s Malgodam. The fire broke out while the truck was parked, and the driver was asleep inside the truck.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be a mosquito coil, which ignited when the driver lit it to ward off mosquitoes while sleeping inside the truck. Witnessing the incident, people immediately informed the local fire brigade.
Within a short span of time, the fire brigade teams from Chauliaganj and Buxi Bazaar rushed to the spot. After an arduous effort, the firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.

Meanwhile, the vehicle’s owner also reached the spot after getting the news about the mishap.
