Balangir: In a shocking incident, six youths were caught by the General Railway Police at Titilagarh in Bolangir district for smuggling ganja in a novel way. The accused had stuck ganja packets to their bodies and wore shirts over them to avoid detection.
The police, who were patrolling the area, noticed the youths acting suspiciously and decided to frisk them. Upon inspection, the police found ganja packets tied around their waists, hidden under their shirts. The youths had taken advantage of their thin bodies and used oversized shirts to conceal the contraband.
The police seized ganja worth approximately Rs 2,22,000 from the accused. The railway police are now investigating the incident further to identify the masterminds behind this smuggling operation.
This incident exposed the creative ways smugglers are finding to evade enforcement agencies. However, the alertness of the Titilagarh Railway Police foiled the plan, and the accused were caught red-handed.
