Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an update on a well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal.
According to IMD, as of 11:30 pm yesterday the system has moved westwards and is expected to intensify into a depression over the southeast and adjoining central Bay of Bengal today.
The meteorological centre has informed that the low-pressure area is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression today, further strengthening into a deep depression by October 26. The system is expected to become a cyclonic storm over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by October 27 morning.
The IMD will continue to monitor the system’s progress and provide updates.
