Bhubaneswar: The paddy procurement process has been accelerated in the state. As of now, the paddy procurement process is going on in Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, , Nuapada, Sambalpur, Subarnapur and Sundargarh.
Paddy will be procured in various districts in phases as per the decision of District Level Paddy procurement Committee. So far, two lakh 24 thousand 704 metric tonnes of paddy have been procured from 49,051 farmers in these districts.
This year, more paddy has been procured from farmers in Sambalpur till today as compared to last year. In Sambalpur, paddy is collected from 18,891 farmers, while last year, paddy was procured from 14,896 farmers till this day. Last year, procurement was started in Sambalpur on November 25, while this year is on December 2.
The state government supplements through all its effort encouraging all farmers to participate in the procurement. More farmers have been registered for procurement this year as Government covered more agricultural areas. The MSP and Input Assistance also rage its ambit to catch the interest of the farmers. The satellite survey of all the agricultural land has been completed.
Each eligible farmer is being issued tokens within the stipulated time. If there is any grievance, the farmers can complain to the concerned mandi or district administration. They can also lodge their grievances through toll free number – 1967.
The state government has directed the district collectors to take prompt action on their grievances. Eligible farmers have been informed not to heed any hearsay regarding paddy procurement.
The payment is being made to the accounts of the concerned farmers within 48 hours after procurement. For this, extensive steps have been made and Aadhar linked e-KYC based payment system is also adopted.
