Bhubaneswar: The mother of late Odia singer Humane Sagar, Sephali Suna, has filed a detailed complaint at Markat Nagar Police Station in Cuttack, demanding an urgent and thorough investigation into her son’s untimely and suspicious death.
In her five-page complaint submitted to the Inspector-in-Charge, Suna has urged the police to register an FIR immediately and initiate a transparent, evidence-based inquiry. She stressed that all possible angles should be explored and every individual, directly or indirectly involved, be held accountable under the law.
The complaint highlights the family’s concerns over unclear circumstances surrounding Humane Sagar’s death. It seeks investigation into potential foul play, poisoning, physical harm, abetment, criminal negligence, harassment, threats, conspiracy, financial motives, or tampering with evidence, including digital records.
Suna has also requested specific investigations, including review of CCTV footage, residence security, reconstruction of the singer’s last movements in Cuttack, preservation of digital and telecom records, detailed financial and asset audits, examination of medical records from the past three to four years, and verification of harassment or defamation claims.
She has named several individuals close to her son over the past few years, including his wife, friend Arpita Choudhury and her family, Prashant Behera, Lulu Mohanty, and Jagdish Mohanty, whose roles she described as suspicious and requiring scrutiny.
“A timely investigation and stringent punishment to the guilty will not only oblige me, but also the crores of Humane Sagar’s fans and well-wishers who seek truth and justice,” the complaint stated.
It is reported that Humane Sagar passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on the evening of November 17 after battling multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, chronic liver failure, pneumonia, and related health complications.
