Bhubaneswar: With the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations just a day away, the Board of Secondary Education has announced that examinees will be allowed an additional 15 minutes to enter the examination centre in case of emergencies. The entry time has been extended up to 9:30 am, from the earlier deadline of 9:15 am.

“Examinees will be allowed to enter the examination centre up to 9:30 am, with a 15-minute grace period,” said Srikanta Tarai, President of the Odisha Board of Secondary Education.

Meanwhile, the board has made special arrangements to ensure a smooth examination process and strict measures to curb cheating.

A total of 3082 centres have been set up across the state, with CCTV cameras installed to monitor the examination process. Students found guilty of cheating will face strict action.

In a bid to facilitate smooth conduct of exams, differently-abled students have been given an additional 50 minutes to complete their papers. The examination centres will provide scribes for these students, and they can also bring a scribe of their choice, provided they are from a lower class than the Class X.

Notably, a total of 5,61,979 students will appear for the exam at 3082 centres across the state. The exams will be held in a single shift, from 9 am to 11:30 am.
