Bhadrak: A teacher at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Basudevpur block of Bhadrak district has been detained by police after allegations surfaced of him attempting to sexually assault a Class VII minor girl student late at night inside the school premises.
The shocking incident reportedly occurred during the late-night hours when the accused teacher allegedly tried to commit rape on the Class VII student who used to reside in the school hostel.
In a desperate bid to save herself, the brave minor girl escaped from the perpetrator’s clutches and ran away from the school campus. She reached the nearby Natiapal village and sought shelter at the home of an elderly local woman.
Visibly shaken, the girl narrated the entire terrifying ordeal of the night to the elderly woman. Early the next morning, the woman informed other villagers about the incident and immediately contacted the Kasia Marine police station to report the crime.
Acting on the urgent complaint, police rescued the minor girl, provided her with necessary medical assistance. Police took the accused teacher into custody for interrogation.
