Sundargarh: In a shocking incident of domestic violence, a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in Sasyakala village near Barasuan under Lahunipara police station limits in Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Sarfina Minz. According to initial reports, Sarfina and her husband, Julu Minz, had an argument over an unspecified issue. In a fit of rage, the accused reportedly picked up a wooden plank lying nearby and assaulted his wife repeatedly on her head and other parts of the body.
The brutal attack left Sarfina critically injured, causing her to collapse on the spot.
Upon receiving information, Lahunipara police rushed to the scene, rescued the injured woman and shifted her to Lahunipara Hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police have detained the accused husband and seized the wooden plank used in the assault. He is currently being interrogated, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
