Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday paid heartfelt tributes to his father, legendary leader and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, on his death anniversary.
In a statement, Naveen Patnaik described Biju Patnaik as “Odisha’s pride and a great mass leader.”
Recalling Biju Patnaik’s contributions, Naveen Patnaik stated that he played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle. He further highlighted that Biju Patnaik strengthened the Panchayati Raj system by empowering people at the grassroots level. His contributions to women’s reservation in politics, industrial development, and safeguarding Odia pride and self-respect remain unparalleled, he added.
