Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly murdered his father and seriously injured his mother at Kadamdihi village under Koida police station limits in Sundargarh district late on Monday night.
According to reports, the accused, son of Painda Munda, first attacked his mother in a sudden fit of rage. When his father rushed to rescue his wife after hearing her screams, the accused turned on him violently.
Painda allegedly beat his father repeatedly with a wooden stick, killing him on the spot. The mother also sustained severe injuries, including a fractured hand and heavy bleeding. She has been rushed to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the incident. The accused is currently absconding, and a search operation is underway to trace him.
