Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi jointly inaugurated an MSME Technology Centre at Sikandarpur village in the Bihta industrial area of Patna on Tuesday.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated extension centres in Muzaffarpur, Munger, Rohtas and Darbhanga, aimed at expanding access to modern technology and industry-oriented skill training across the state.

These centres are expected to provide advanced, technology-enabled training and create a skilled workforce aligned with industry needs.

Addressing a large gathering, Samrat Choudhary said that his government is committed to generating employment on a massive scale.

He announced a target to create jobs for 1 crore people within the next 5 years, emphasising the crucial role of the MSME sector in achieving this goal.

“The NDA formed the new government in Bihar on November 20, 2025, and we have set a target to attract investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore by November 5, 2026. MSMEs will play a significant role in employment generation and skill development,” he said.

The programme is being implemented under the National SC/ST Hub Scheme, which aims to enhance the participation of SC/ST entrepreneurs in government procurement.

A series of stalls showcasing MSME initiatives and opportunities was set up at the Bihta centre.

The Chief Minister and Union Minister inspected these stalls, reviewing facilities designed to support entrepreneurs.

Visitors were provided information on vendor registration, access to government contracts, and participation in procurement processes.

The MSME Ministry has also planned to organise similar events at 350 locations across the country this year to encourage greater participation of youth in entrepreneurship and skill development.

Countering opposition claims, the Chief Minister asserted that investment is steadily flowing into Bihar.

He highlighted that the state’s large consumer base of nearly 14 crore people contributes significantly to both state and central revenues through GST.

He also outlined plans to strengthen rural education infrastructure, stating that degree colleges will be opened in every block, with the process set to begin from July this year.
