Inventory Work Inside Ratna Bhandar of Jagannatha Temple To Resume Today

Bhubaneswar: The inventory work inside the Ratna Bhandar of the Shree Jagannatha Temple, which was earlier halted due to the Bahara Chandan Yatra rituals, will resume from today. The process will now continue for two days.

According to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the inventorisation of jewelleries and valuables inside the Ratna Bhandara, which began on March 25, 2026, as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) approved by the State Government, has so far been carried out for a total of 57 hours and 8 minutes in different phases. The process was temporarily suspended due to the sacred rituals of Akshaya Trutiya and the 21-day-long Bahara Chandan Jatra that started on April 20, 2026. It is scheduled to resume on Monday, May 11, 2026, and continue on May 12, 2026.

Since the Bhitara Chandan Jatra of Mahaprabhu is set to begin on May 11, the inventorisation work will start only after the completion of Jata Bhoga and Madhyahna Dhupa rituals. The SJTA has made necessary arrangements to ensure that the daily rituals of the deities continue uninterrupted and devotees can have smooth darshan. Due to security considerations during the inventorisation process, darshan for devotees will be available only from the ‘Bahara Katha’ area, approximately from 4:00 pm until the completion of Sandhya Dhupa rituals.

The entire inventorisation process will be conducted in a transparent manner in the presence of authorised Sevak members, the Chairman of the Ratna Bhandara High-Level Committee, Executive Magistrate, and other officials, under the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

The Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has appealed to all sevaks, officials, devotees, and the general public for continued cooperation. The schedule for subsequent phases of the inventorisation will be announced later.
