Kalahandi: Junagarh police have busted a bike theft racket in Kalahandi district, arresting six persons and recovering 44 stolen motorcycles during a major operation carried out in the Dharamgarh subdivision.
According to Kalahandi Superintendent of Police (SP) Nagaraj Devarakonda, six persons were involved in the bike theft cases, while three others were receivers of the stolen motorcycles. Police launched an investigation after receiving a complaint regarding a bike theft on May 13.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had stolen bikes from different places in the Dharamgarh subdivision. Following their confession, police recovered a total of 44 stolen motorcycles from their possession, SP Nagaraj said.
Further investigation into the case is underway, police added.
