Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Bhubaneswar Sabar, Executive Engineer (EE), R&B Sub-Division, Dharmagarh, and In-charge EE, R&B Division, Bhawanipatana, in a disproportionate assets case.
According to an official press release, Sabar has been taken into custody and will be produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatana, later in the day.
Based on searches conducted at properties linked to Bhubaneswar Sabar, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets, including five buildings (four multi-storey buildings), 83 acres of land (97 plots), two farm houses spanning 17 acres, and one market complex with eight cabins, among others, which he failed to satisfactorily explain.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance Police Station Case No. 07/2026 has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
Further investigation is underway.
