Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, Chaitanya Dehuri (35), a Revenue Inspector posted in Gandia Tahasil, reportedly died due to extreme heatwave conditions.
Dehuri, a resident of Maruabil village under Kankadahada block in Dhenkanal district, was earlier working as an Amin in Bhuban Tahasil. He had recently been promoted and joined as Revenue Inspector in Gandia.
According to sources, Dehuri was living in a rented house in Bhuban. He fell seriously ill due to the intense summer heat and heavy workload. He was immediately rushed to Bhuban Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Bhuban Police have seized the body and launched an investigation into the matter. The exact cause of death has not been ascertained yet. Officials said the actual reason behind the death will only be confirmed after the postmortem report is available.
The untimely death of the young officer has cast a pall of gloom over the Revenue Department and the local area.
