Bhubaneswar: An employee of the State Bank of India (SBI) died after falling from a moving train at Ambodala railway station in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Dilip Kumar Sabat, who was working at the SBI Lanjigarh branch.
According to reports, Dilip was travelling on the Bhubaneswar–Junagarh Express train. He reportedly fell asleep when the train halted at Ambodala station and woke up late.
In a hurry to get down, he attempted to alight from the moving train but lost his balance and fell.
Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel immediately rushed to his rescue and shifted him to Ambodala Hospital for emergency treatment. However, as his condition worsened, doctors referred him to Bhawanipatna for advanced medical care. However, Dilip succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
